L.Stadt harmoniously fuses modern rock with old school. Their songs feature powerful electric guitar, the energetically pulsating rhythms of two drummers and modern chords with melodic flavor.
The band had the honour of performing on the main stage during the first day of the 2007 OFF Festival in Myslowice and their songs can be found on numerous compilations, such as: OFFensywa, Program Alternatywny, FDM, as well as on the soundtrack to the film Absolute Beginner.
L.Stadt’s self-titled debut album (released by concert agency eventmusic and distributed by EMI), which hit the shelves on February 2008, was met with gushing reviews and the Polish media declared the band to be Polish music’s greatest hope. 2008 was touring year and L.Stadt hit single "Londyn" was nominated for the best rock song of the year at Poland‘s prestigious ESKA Music Awards in 2009. The band is also an ambassador of the city of Lodz in its efforts to be named the European Capital of Culture 2016.
2008 L.Stadt opened the Tent Stage at one of the biggest festivals in europe Heineken Open'er and rocked at the PKOBP London Live festival at Wembley Arena. 2009 L.Stadt played two big tours in Poland and festivals also abroad like Lithuanian Festival Be2gether and ViertelFest in Bremen.
2010 L.Stadt played 2 night and 2 day showcases at SXSW in Austin TX and 9 other gigs including Houston, Dallas and Ft.Worth.
During summer L.Stadt performed at most popular festivals in Poland Heineken Open'er, Slot Art Festival and Coke Festival.
L.Stadt has performed over 200 gigs at festivals, clubs and showcases in Poland and abroad, including USA, Canada, Germany, England, Lithuania, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia.
Their second trip to America was for the FILTER magazine festival CULTURE COLLIDE in L.A., where L.Stadt shared the stage with White Lies.
In Toronto, at INDIE WEEK in Canada, L.Stadt was one of the 10 finalist out of 170 bands.
Toward the end of 2010, L.Stadt finished work on their second album. The person responsible for mix and mastering is Mikael Count, San Franciscan producer known from cooperating with names like DJ Shadow, Radiohead and No Doubt. On the 6th of december album named EL.P was released by main independent label in Poland, Mystic Production. 2011 saw L.Stadt be recommended by Metro Canada as a band to see on CMW with 8 other bands, and Paste Magazine put L.Stadt in their top 100 bands at the 25th anniversary of SXSW - the largest SXSW yet.
In April 2011, L.Stadt won "Warranties of Culture" TVP Kultura award in category "rock, jazz and other".
